Lectures

For many years, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia, we have organized a series of lectures and university courses related to Korczak and his teachings. These include the Summer Institute Course for Teachers and the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program (ISGP) Course at the UBC – Janusz Korczak’s Legacy: Children’s Rights are Human Rights. We also organized lectures with other institutions (including BC Representative for Children and Youth, and our honorary patron, Lieutenant Governor of BC) at events honouring recipients of the Janusz Korczak awards, as well as a seminar series with Access to Justice BC. A central goal of these lectures, which have featured speakers from a variety of backgrounds (including members on UN, UNICEF and many Canadian and international activists and scholars), has been to create a forum to promote collaboration and the exchange of ideas across disciplines.
